If you have Amazon Prime, I hope you are watching the 10 part series on Eco-Challenge Fiji. This multi-day non-stop multi-discipline race took place last fall. Sixty-six teams started the race, each with four members, with at last one member of the opposite sex, and one crew member. The last Eco-Challenge race took place almost 20 years ago – in Fiji.

I encourage you to watch this amazing adventure. You may find yourself inspired and motivated to consider doing it yourself. Well, you are in luck. You have until August 29 to assemble your team, choose your team captain, make a 5- to 10-minute video showcasing your amazing team, complete the application process, and submit it by the deadline. Here’s the link to next August’s 2021 Eco-Challenge Patagonia.
Find friends and fellow sports enthusiasts who can mountain bike, paddle, swim, trek, navigate, rappel, survive on little sleep, are tough, are superb team players, are highly motivated, love challenges, and have the personality to persevere. Watch all ten episodes to get a feel for the race. Then if you’re not scared out of your wits, apply.
I have never completed an adventure race. But I have worked medical on a few in the United States and Canada. I even know a few people who could serve you well as crew members.
Oh yea, make sure you read Fixing Your Feet before the race. Your feet are a vital part of the race.
Good luck. If your team is selected, you can thank me later.
